To be honest, most Fitness Programs aren’t all that Exciting. Just by the way most fitness plans are structured, they get boring fast and – despite our best efforts – its hard to stay involved.

1) Lacking Variety and Excitement:
This is the biggest reason well-intentioned fitness plans fail. All of a sudden into week 2 or 3 the program you were originally pumped up about now doesn’t get you out of bed, or doesn’t get you into your car for another session.
Then what do we do? Well, most people try to go about designing each workout to be different, but in the course of having to brainstorm a “game plan” for each session we run out of ideas… and again run out of the all-important Motivation for Fitness! That’s why this Women’s Only Boot Camp works.
2) Lack of Team Motivation:
As a Kinesiology major at the University of Rhode Island, I learned early on that the most successful fitness plans involved the help and support from others – this is especially powerful for Women!
Most fitness plans just don’t include this same “team vibe” that gives us the will and ACCOUNTABILITY to work out to our fullest. Sometimes we try to bring a friend, but friends often get busy or discouraged fast – or something comes up and your schedules just don’t match up.
The other people in the YMCA might become acquaintances, but they can’t make sure you follow up on your daily goals. The other runners on the bike path might motivate you to keep up with them, but they won’t make sure you get up the next morning and get to running again!

What makes our program work is a REVERSAL of what makes most programs fail. As a Nutrition and Exercise Science experts, we’ve also studied Motivation and Goal Setting (my graduate degree was in Positive Psychology from UPENN!) – and have set out to “hit the nail on the head” with the EXACT factors that make a fitness program WORK.
